On April 14, the distinguished Professor Ilpo Huhtaniemi graced our event with his presence. With an impressive academic trajectory, Professor Huhtaniemi is a prominent figure in the field of reproductive endocrinology.

Having earned his medical degree and PhD from the University of Helsinki, Finland, he also pursued postdoctoral training in the United States (at UC San Francisco and NIH, Bethesda). His career included serving as Professor and Chair of Physiology at the University of Turku, Finland, from 1986 to 2002. Later, he relocated to the United Kingdom, where he held the Chair in Reproductive Endocrinology at Imperial College London.

Furthermore, Professor Huhtaniemi has been the Chief Managing Editor of the journal Molecular and Cellular Endocrinology since 1999. His extensive experience extends to official roles in international scientific organizations, including his tenure as Past President of the International Society of Andrology.

His research interests span clinical and basic reproductive endocrinology, with a particular focus on the function of gonadotropins and male reproductive endocrinology.
