Senior Graduate Assistant in Surgery in the Centro Hospital Universitario de Santo António (CHUSA) and Invited Full Professor of Surgery, ICBAS, University of Porto. Obtained a PhD in Medical Sciences, ICBAS, University of Porto in 2007.  The main clinical and research activities are focused in General Surgery, Digestive Surgery, Minimal Invasive Surgery and Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery. In CHUSA is responsible for the Upper Digestive Tract Surgery Unit, Reference Center for the esophageal cancer in adults, emergency surgical medical staff organization and for the specialty medical Internship in Surgery. Experience in supervision of master and PhD students, member of different national and international scientific societies and editorial boards.
