Adriana Vinhas is a Junior Researcher at the Institute for Medical and Biomedical Sciences (ICBAS) of the University of Porto, collaborating with the Research Group on Regenerative Medicine and Tissue Modelling. She holds a Master’s degree in Applied Biochemistry (Biomedicine specialization) from the University of Minho and a PhD in Tissue Engineering, Regenerative Medicine, and Stem Cells from the same institution, graduating in 2021.
Her doctoral research focused on the role of magnetic actuation in tendon and immune cells under inflammatory environments, contributing to the development of advanced strategies for tendon regeneration. This work led to multiple peer-reviewed publications and presentations at international conferences.
She is the recipient of several prestigious awards, including the Acta Student Award 2021, the 2023 Travel Award from International Journal of Molecular Sciences, and the “ON Pilot Grant Ankle 2022” by the ON Foundation for her project on smart nanocarriers targeting inflammation in tendons. Adriana has an h-index of 8, with 14 published articles in international peer-reviewed journals, 2 reviews, and 1 book chapter.
