Regenerative Medicine and 3D Tissue Modelling 

The Regenerative Medicine and 3D Tissue Modelling team focus on emergent topics in the field of Regenerative Medicine, Tissue Engineering, biomaterials, stem cells and innovative surgical techniques/tools, in order to enhance the knowledge-driven development of advanced and personalized therapeutic approaches for diverse clinical problems, with emphasis on orthopedics, namely spine-intervertebral disc pathology, tendinopathies, osteosarcoma, osteoarticular infection and arthroplasty, among others.  For this purpose, the team develops basic interdisciplinary and clinical research focused on 4 main research lines: 1) Tissue Regeneration and Replacement: 2) Wound Healing and Trauma Management, 3) Prosthetics and Implants and 4) Tissue/Disease Modelling, aiming to address unmet clinical needs identified in the clinical practice.
