Vânia Oliveira graduated as medical doctor at ICBAS-UP in 2007, is an Orthopaedic Surgeon since 2015 and integrates the Musculoskeletal Tumors Unit of CHUdSA / ULSSA in Porto, a National and European referral Center for Bone and Soft Tissue Sarcomas. She obtained her PhD with the thesis “Innovative Treatment for Bone Metastases”, at ICBAS-UP in 2021. She also works as a Professor at ICBAS-UP. She is a tutor of an Orthopaedic Resident, supervisor of Master Thesis, and jury member of Master Degrees of medical students of ICBAS-UP. She is a member of the Consultive Committee of the Continuous Formation of SROMN. She is a member of CAC-CHUdSA/ULSSA, integrates the Digital health and Simulation Units. She was the Coordinator of the Musculoskeletal Tumors Group (STAL) of the Portuguese Orthopaedics and Traumatology Society (SPOT) during 2019-2020. She was the president of the founding committee of the Young Specialists of SPOT (JESPOT), 2015-2017. She was the main Head of one of the Orthopaedics Emergency Teams (Trauma) at CHUdSA from 2015-2019. She collaborates with international multicentric studies on musculoskeletal tumors and biomedical engineers (ISEP-UP). She started osseointegration for amputees in Portugal. She organized national and international meetings and frequently participates in scientific meetings as a speaker or moderator. Previously she did 4 international fellowships in Europe. She is an invited reviewer of RPOT since 2015 and for Case Reports in Orthopedic Research since 2019. She was an invited member of the international Scientific Committee for the first global Consensus Meeting “Birmingham Orthopaedic Oncology Meeting” (2024). She is a member of OM, SPOT, GEPES, OSOS, EMSOS, and ISOLS.
