Susana Almeida

Susana de Almeida, completed the work leading to her PhD in Biomedical Sciences in 2020, at the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences (ICBAS-FFUP), University of Porto, Porto, Portugal. In 2009, she obtained the title of Master in Medicine and Molecular Oncology from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP), Portugal. In 2002, she received a postgraduate diploma from the Superior Course in Legal Medicine at the National Institute of Legal Medicine-Delegation of Porto (INML). She graduated in Marine Biology in 1997 at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences Abel Salazar, University of Porto, Porto, Portugal.
She was a Research Technician at the Immunology Laboratory at IBMC (Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology) and a Molecular Geneticist at CGPP (Centre for Preventive and Predictive Genetics) from 2002 to 2011. She was a Superior Technician and lab manager at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Porto (Biomedical Engineering) from 2012 to 2013.
Since 2014, she has carried out research tasks at ICBAS, first as an external collaborator and then as a doctoral student and researcher.
As for research, her topics of interest are: Genetic diseases; Reproductive Biology; Male Infertility and Aging.
Her areas of interest are: Health Sciences; Pharmacological Sciences; Biology; Clinical Trials; Medical devices.
