Bárbara Leal

Bárbara Leal is a biochemist from FCUP with a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from ICBAS-UPorto. She co-authored 23 research papers in peer-review journals and participated in several national and international conferences with more than 100 presentations. Currently, she is a research fellow at UMIB, ICBAS-UP, where she continues the work started in the PhD, studying the epigenetic mechanisms involved in Epilepsy development / progression and how these can be MTLE biomarkers. Bárbara Leal main research interests re: neuroimmunology, Epigenetics, Genetics, Inflammation.
