In September 2004, she entered the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto with an average of 19.2.
In August 2009, she participated in the Clinical Exchange program (“Professional Exchange”) organized by the International Federation of Medical Students Associations, at the General Surgery Service of the Hospital Instituto de Seguridad y Servicios Sociales de los Trabajadores al Servicio de los Poderes del Estado de Puebla , Puebla, Mexico; in September of the same year she completed an internship within the scope of the ERASMUS program, at the 1st Medical Faculty of Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic.
In May 2010, she completed her Master’s thesis in the area of Immunoallergology, with a classification of 20 points, with the following theme: Is competitive swimming associated with increased airway inflammation?
In July 2010, she completed the integrated study cycle leading to a Master’s degree in Medicine, at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP), with a classification of 16 points, corresponding to grade B on the European scale.
She took the National Ranking Test for access to the Medical Internship – Specific Training in November 2010, with a result of 76%.
She completed her Medical Internship – Common Year at Centro Hospitalar de São João (CHSJ) in Porto and UCSP in Ermesinde, having obtained the classification of “Apt”.
She completed the General Surgery Specific Training Internship (2012-2017) in April 2018, with a final grade of 19.7, approved on May 21, 2018, granting her the Degree of Specialist in General Surgery.
She has been working as Hospital Assistant for General Surgery at ULSEDV since October 1, 2018, and is part of the Integrated Responsibility Center for the Surgical Treatment of Obesity and Metabolic Diseases (CRI-TCODM) with active participation in clinical research in this area. She applied for the Doctoral Program in Medical Sciences at the Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar of the University of Porto (ICBAS, UP) in the academic year 2023/2024, with the project “Sleeve gastrectomy to single or dual anastomosis duodenal switch for severe obesity – what ´s in between”.
She is coordinator of the Complex Abdominal Wall Unit of the ULSEDV General Surgery Service, created in 2023.
