Jorge Sequeiros

Jorge Sequeiros is a clinical geneticist, who has been devoted to the definition of public policies on genetic testing and counselling. He dedicated also to psychosocial genetics, genetic epidemiology, historical genetics, and genetics and society.

His major research interests have been late-onset neurological diseases, mainly Machado-Joseph disease, Huntington and other movement disorders; and familial amyloid neuropathy.

He founded and is still involved with the MSc on Genetic Counselling at ICBAS. He is a main researcher at i3S, invited Full Professor at ICBAS and Emeritus Professor of UP.
