Luísa Azevedo

Luísa Azevedo completed her PhD in 2004 at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto. Her main avenue of research is focused on genetic variability and epistatic interactions. Dr. Azevedo is currently a Principal Investigator and professor of Genetics at the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (ICBAS, U.Porto) and coordinator of the research group Molecular Interactions and Computational Analyses at the Unit for Multidisciplinary Research in Biomedicine (UMIB, ICBAS). She has co‑authored 70 scientific publications, mainly in the fields of Genetics and Bioinformatics. She has secured several project grants through competitive calls both as Principal Investigator or contributing as team member, and is currently involved in three funded research projects.
