World’s Top 2% Most Cited Scientists – Tiago Torres

Tiago Torres, MD, PhD, a leading researcher in immunodermatology at UMIB, was recently included in the “World’s Top 2% Scientists list” organised by the prestigious Stanford University. Having over 1500 citations in the field of diagnosis and treatment of psoriasis and atopic dermatitis, Dr. Torres was internationally recognized in this list as one of the most cited researchers in 2021. He is Professor of Dermatology at the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences, University of Porto and Head of the Psoriasis Unit of the Department of Dermatology of Centro Hospitalar Universitário do Porto. Dr. Torres has also been involved in the development of national guidelines for the treatment of psoriasis and atopic dermatitis and has received the “Juvenal Esteves” Prize from the Portuguese Society of Dermatology and Venereology with research projects in psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis in 2011, 2013, 2017, and 2018. He is additionally the present President of the Portuguese Group of Psoriasis, a member of SPIN, IPC and GRAPPA, serves as Associate Editor of Acta Medica Portuguesa, Portuguese Journal of Dermatology and Drugs in Context and belongs to the Editorial Board of Drugs and the Foundation Rene Touraine’s book Therapeutics.
