Mariana P. Monteiro is Associate Professor at School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, University of Porto (UP). Previously, graduated as Medical Doctor at UP in 1996, got a Board Certificate in Endocrinology in 2005 and was Research Fellow at Imperial College London before obtaining her PhD in 2007 with the thesis “Mechanisms of gastro-intestinal hormone induced weight loss” at UP. Currently works as Endocrine Consultant and Principal Investigator at UMIB supervising a group of clinical and molecular researchers focused on Diabetes and Obesity.
She is also member of the Steering Committee of the Incretin-Study Group of European Association For The Study Of Diabetes.
