About Us

Funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), project UID/PRR/00215/2025 strengthened the research infrastructure of the Multidisciplinary Unit for Biomedical Research (UMIB) through the acquisition of advanced High-Resolution Liquid Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry platforms (UHPLC-MS, NanoUHPLC-MS, and MS/MS) and a high-resolution fluorescence microscope equipped with spinning disk technology.

The new research infrastructure significantly enhances UMIB’s analytical and imaging capabilities, enabling high-sensitivity and high-resolution characterization of biomolecules, as well as advanced visualization of biological processes in cells and tissues. Together, these technologies support cutting-edge research in proteomics, metabolomics, lipidomics, biomarker discovery, precision medicine, and cell biology, providing deeper insights into disease mechanisms and therapeutic targets.

By expanding its advanced omics and imaging platforms, UMIB reinforces its commitment to scientific excellence, innovation, and collaborative research, creating new opportunities for national and international partnerships and contributing to improved healthcare outcomes and biomedical discovery.
