Rosália Sá

Rosália has a degree in Biology from the University of Aveiro and in Basic Health Sciences from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto. In 2012, she received her Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences ICBAS-UP with an individual grant funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT)
As Assistant Professor at the Department of Microscopy of ICBAS-UP (since 2007), she lectures the curricular units of Cell and Tissue Biology to the integrated master degree in Medicine, Cell Biology to the integrated master degree in Veterinary Medicine and Engineering and Handling in Aquaculture to the BSc in Aquatic Sciences, in addition to the coordination and lecturing of the curricular units of Cell Biology (Integrated Master Degree in Bioengineering / B.Sc. course in Bioengineering) and Methods in Microscopy (M.Sc. in Biochemistry).
Her diagnostic interests are mainly focused on primary ciliary dyskinesia and sperm DNA fragmentation. Her research interests include fertility preservation in children with cancer and in vitro assays to detect toxicity of biologically active substances in human sperm.
She has authored or co-authored more than 100 publications in international peer-reviewed scientific periodicals, including book chapters,editorials/commentaries, review papers and original papers.
