Major Scientific Achievements
  • Demonstration that vitamin D supplementation is a suitable therapeutic approach for SLE with an impact in immune system
  • Demonstration that susceptibility for SLE has a strong genetic component for wich HLA locus and polymorphisms in Vitamin D signaling pathway have an important contribution
  • Integration in the research group that observed that half of the northen Portuguese is vitamin D deficient.
