UMIB researchers win the “Janssen Immunology Real World Evidence Award 2019”

A research work led by a group within the Autoimmunity & Neurosciences research group of UMIB, “The role of miR-146a, a regulator of inflammatiion, in psoriasis development”, has won the “Janssen Immunology Real World Evidence Award 2019”, in the field of Dermatology.

The work was coordinated by Prof. Tiago Torres, MD, PhD, and developed at the Dermatology Service of the Centro Universitário Hospitalar do Porto, in association with the Immunogenetics Lab of ICBAS-UPorto.

The award ceremony was held at the 5th Janssen Immunology Forum, which was held in Tróia, Portugal, on the 5th and 6th April 2019. The prized work was presented in this same forum by Bárbara Leal, PhD. This work is part of a projected aimed at unraveling epigenetic biomarkers for diagnosis and prognosis of patients suffering from psoriasis.
